This change to Iron Banner fits right in with that. For instance, the Season of the Haunted armor grants you more Vestiges of Dread, the seasonal currency used to generate rewards at the end of the Nightmare Containment activity. It seems like Bungie’s approach to getting players to wear seasonal armor now that they’ve ditched sunsetting is to tie the armor sets to progression. Don’t forget to wear an Iron Banner emblem if you happen to have one of those, also - it’ll increase your rank progression by another 10%. Equipping Iron Banner gear (armor and weapons) will increase your rank progression up to a total of 200%, and this includes ornaments.
Oh, and this trick works for increasing Iron Banner reputation, too. You can either complete Ada’s bounties or just buy the transmog items from the Eververse store, it’s up to you. Then, you can slap them onto whatever Legendary armor you’ve already got, and boom - you’re wearing Iron Banner gear which counts towards the Triumph. If you’ve owned any Iron Banner armor in the past, you can use Ada-1’s transmog system to create some Universal Ornaments from those pieces. Now, if you’re like me and finally just cleared out your Vault at the end of last season, mercilessly ditching all of your Legendary armor pieces besides your high-stat Masterworked rolls, then you might be a little annoyed at that requirement.īut don’t worry, because there’s another way. There’s a new seal to collect as well, and if you’ve taken a look at it in your Triumphs tab, you might have noticed something - one of the Triumphs is for completing Iron Banner matches while wearing armor from the event. The Weapons are shared by all, while the Armor will be specific to each class.Bracus Forge is bringing Iron Banner back to the Tower for the first time in Season of the Haunted this week, and Bungie’s overhauled the activity to be more in line with Crucible, Gambit, and Vanguard Operations. You’ll earn an Iron Engram and other rewards each time you do so, but it takes 20 Iron Banner Tokens to fully level up one time. The seasonal Iron Banner milestone requires you to rank your Iron Banner Reputation up 10 times. You’ll also earn five Iron Banner tokens per win and two per loss, so winning actually pays much more than in past events. Doing so will net you 15 Iron Banner tokens. The daily Iron Banner Milestone is a small collection of challenges that you must complete while you’re playing the Iron Banner.
The good news with Iron Banner, is that you not only get Iron Banner specific gear as you level up your reputation, but you also get gear drops (non-Iron Banner) at the end of each match, and your time will count towards your Clan XP and Call to Arms milestones, making this activity three birds with one stone. In this way, Iron Banner feels less competitive than it did in past years. This means that you can use whatever gear you’re comfortable with, even if the attack or defense rating isn’t your highest. One thing that is slightly different from the original Iron Banner in Destiny, is that level advantages are disabled. That reward is nothing more than a unique emblem that you will not be able to earn after this current Iron Banner event running until November 27. The seasonal milestone, however, offers you a seasonal reward once you collect 10 Iron Banner packages during Season 1.
The daily Iron Banner milestone only gives you a reputation package that you can turn in to Lord Saladin to level up and earn a Legendary engram. One is the daily and one is the seasonal. You can now launch directly into the Iron Banner from the Director and get started.īefore you do, though, take note that you have two milestones in your Director. Once you interact with him you’ll get your Iron Banner milestone, and the Iron Banner Crucible playlist will show up in your Director. He will be located just above Shaxx and the Gunsmith. To begin with the Iron Banner in Destiny 2, head to the Tower and speak with Lord Saladin.
